Laurel Underground Arts Square Foot Show, Nov. 12
Laurel Underground Arts presents the "Square Foot Show" featuring nearly 20 local artists using the same 1-foot x 1-foot plywood square, each with their own unique interpretation of the format. The opening reception for this show will be at Oak Street Place Gallery (409 Oak Street) on Friday, Nov. 12 from 5-8 p.m., coinciding with the Downtown Open House event throughout Historic Downtown Laurel. The show will remain on display for the following month. Each artwork will be sold for $45 with proceeds funding future Laurel Underground Arts projects. Christmas Parade, Dec. 4
One of the largest parades in the state of Mississippi, this event hosted by Sertoma of Laurel begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, from the southeast corner of the Sawmill Mall parking lot. Be sure to arrive early (8 a.m.) to get your spot.
You also won't want to miss (Dec. 4): Kiwanis Pancake Day at the YWCO and First Baptist Church. Tickets for all you can eat pancakes are $5 in advance from any Kiwanis member and $6 at the door.
Lauren Rogers Museum of Art hosts The Azure Ball, an annual gala event, at the Rogers-Green House on 5th Avenue. Tickets are $100 and available to patrons of the Museum.
Council of Garden Clubs Tour of Homes
Laurel/Jones County is brimming with beautiful homes and perfectly manicured gardens. The Laurel/Jones County Council of Garden Clubs Tour of Homes will be Sunday, Dec. 12 from 1-4 p.m. Tickets to view all homes on display are $15.
